This guide demonstrates how to create a dropped shoulder sleeve with an extended back yoke and a box pleat at the center back.

It involves dropping the armhole by around 5-6 inches, extending the back yoke by 2 inches, and adding an extra 1-2 inches to the bottom of the shirt to create a fold and form the box pleat.

The steps include marking notches, matching the fold lines, and stitching the yoke to the bottom piece.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Drop the armhole by around 5-6 inches from the shoulder line.
  2. Extend the back yoke by approximately 2 inches.
  3. Add an extra 1-2 inches to the bottom of the shirt to create a fold for the box pleat.
  4. Mark notches on the yoke and bottom piece to align them correctly.
  5. Match the fold lines of the bottom piece, bringing the extended line to the original line.
  6. Stitch the yoke to the folded bottom piece, creating the box pleat at the center back.
