In this guide, I demonstrate how to use a master torso block to create fitted 2-dart bodice blocks with various dart and neckline variations.

I show techniques for manipulating darts, transferring them to different locations, and adjusting necklines for both front and back pieces.

The lesson covers creating waist darts, bust darts, armhole darts, and shoulder darts, as well as how to true pattern pieces and prepare them for fitting.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Start with a master torso block
  2. Separate the bodice from the hip area
  3. Create waist darts for a fitted look
  4. Add bust darts or transfer darts to different locations (e.g., armhole, shoulder)
  5. Adjust necklines for both front and back pieces
  6. True pattern pieces and smooth lines
  7. Add seam allowances and notches
  8. Prepare patterns for fitting on a dress form
