In this session, I went through correcting and truing the draped pieces for the classic shirt. I laid the front, back and yoke pieces flat to make adjustments before transferring to the paper pattern.

Lesson Steps:

  • Lay out the draped front, back and yoke pieces flat
  • Mark to extend shoulders out 1 inch on each side
  • Drop armholes down 3cm from original line
  • Blend armhole curves from dropped points
  • Add 2cm ease out from center front
  • Shape side seams with a slight curved shape
  • Measure yoke lengths to determine gather/pleat amounts
  • Adjust back for box pleat and optional extra pleat
