In this lesson, I taught how to transfer the muslin shirt pieces onto pattern paper and make necessary adjustments before drafting the sleeves. I demonstrated truing the side seams, adjusting armhole curves, and lengthening the shirt hem.
Lesson Steps:
- Transfer muslin pieces to dot paper tracing the final lines
- Mark important reference points like center front, shoulders, waist, etc.
- True the side seams by folding and matching them
- Smooth out armhole curves if needed
- Adjust hem length as desired at front, back and sides
- Separate front and back bodice pieces
- Label each pattern piece with garment info and grain line
- Measure actual armhole lengths and compare to original measurements
- Prepare to draft sleeves using the updated armhole measurements
