In this session, I demonstrated how to finish attaching the zipper to the dress. I pinned the back of the dress closed, ensuring there was no excess bulk around the zipper area. This step is crucial to allow for easy zipping and a smooth fit.

Lesson Steps:

  • Put the dress on the reverse and pin the back closed, leaving some room around the zipper area.
  • Ensure there is no excess bulk or stretching when pinning.
  • Hand-stitch the back of the dress closed along the side of the zipper.
  • Finish the top and bottom of the skirt lining with a machine stitch.
  • Hem the skirt.
  • Try on the dress to ensure a proper fit without any pulling or tightness.

I took care to hand-stitch the back closure along the zipper for a neat finish, while using the machine for the lining and hem for efficiency. The key is to leave enough room around the zipper for easy movement when zipping up the dress.
