In this session, I showed the steps to properly drape the back muslin piece, aligning the shoulder blade line and pinning it down. I then created darts at the waist and shoulder to achieve the desired fit, slashing the fabric as needed for a smooth drape around the curves.

Lesson Steps:

  • Align the back shoulder blade line and pin it down
  • Pin the sides, armholes, and center back
  • Slash around the neckline for a smooth drape
  • Trim excess fabric from armholes and neckline
  • Create waist darts by pinching and pinning the excess
  • Add a shoulder dart for a well-defined shoulder line
  • Adjust armhole and neckline shaping as needed
  • Attach the front and back pieces with pins at sides, shoulders, and waistline
  • Make any final adjustments for a proper fit
  • Mark all seam lines, darts, and reference points on the muslin
