In this session, I provided a comprehensive review of the dress project we completed. I walked through the entire process, from draping the muslin to cutting and sewing the final garment.

I emphasized the importance of matching the darts and seams throughout the construction process to achieve a clean, continuous line. I also highlighted my choice of fabrics with body and structure to give the dress a polished look.

Lesson Steps:

  • Draped the basic top and skirt in muslin
  • Transferred the muslin patterns to dot paper, ensuring darts aligned
  • Cut the fabric and lining using the dot paper patterns
  • Sewed the dress pieces together, carefully matching darts and seams
  • Attached the lining, paying close attention to the armholes and neckline
  • Hand-stitched the hem and zipper for a clean finish
  • Shared tips on fabric choices for structure and a polished look

I encourage everyone to share their versions of the dress and welcome any questions or assistance needed to complete this project successfully!
