In this session, I demonstrated how to sew the darts and outline of the bodice for the Barbara dress project. I provided guidance on handling fabrics that are more challenging to sew, such as lame, and emphasized the importance of not stretching the fabric while sewing.
Lesson Steps:
- Mark and sew the darts on the front and back bodice pieces
- Sew the center back seam
- Locate and sew the shoulder darts
- Join the shoulder seams, ensuring a 1/2 inch seam allowance
- Carefully handle and sew the fabric without stretching it
- Adjust the sewing machine tension and stitch length as needed for the fabric type
