In this session, I taught how to match the darts and seamlines of the skirt and bodice patterns to create a cohesive dress design. I emphasized the importance of having continuous, aligned lines for a high-end look.

Lesson Steps:

  • Compared the center front lines of the skirt and bodice patterns, adjusting one to match the other
  • Shifted the bodice dart slightly towards the center back for better alignment
  • Refined the shoulder dart for a more flattering line over the bust
  • Traced the updated patterns, closing darts and transferring notches
  • Prepared the patterns for cutting fabric and constructing the dress
