In this lesson, I demonstrated how to cut and sew a basic kimono sample dress. This serves as a trial run to understand how the garment will drape and fit on the body before cutting into the final fabric.

Lesson Steps:

  • Lay out the front and back bodice pieces, and sleeves
  • Mark the waist dart on the front bodice
  • Sew the shoulder seams, attaching sleeves
  • Sew the side seams from sleeve to waist
  • Try on the sample for a test fit
