In this session, I demonstrated how to carefully cut the silk charmeuse fabrics for the Debbie dress, ensuring the beautiful ombre pattern is positioned correctly. I also cut the facings, sleeves, and pockets from the remaining fabric pieces, aiming to minimize waste with this luxurious material.

I meticulously laid out and cut the silk charmeuse fabrics for the Debbie dress top and skirt, ensuring the ombre pattern flowed seamlessly. I also utilized leftover pieces to cut the facings, sleeves, pockets, and casings, minimizing fabric waste.

Lesson Steps:

  • Laid out the silk charmeuse fabrics, positioning the ombre pattern carefully
  • Cut the front and back bodice pieces, maintaining pattern flow
  • Cut the facings from remaining fabric
  • Folded and cut the sleeves, preserving the selvedge edge
  • Cut the skirt pieces, ensuring continuous ombre gradient
  • Utilized leftover pieces to cut pockets and casings
  • Stored cut pieces safely to prevent fraying
