In this session, I taught how to prepare the facings and attach the straps for the Debbie dress top. I interfaced the front and back neckline facings, then attached bias strips at specific points to create the spaghetti strap ties.

I demonstrated interfacing the neckline facings, cutting thin bias strips for straps, attaching the straps at marked points on the facings, and binding the outer edge of the facings with bias strips.

Lesson Steps:

  • Interface the front and back neckline facings
  • Cut thin bias strips from lightweight silk fabric for spaghetti straps
  • Mark placement points for straps on the facings
  • Baste or tack the strap bias strips at the marked points
  • Bind the outer edge of the facings with bias strips
  • Next will be attaching the prepared facings to the neckline of the bodice
