In this session, I taught how to attach the skirt to the bodice of the Debbie dress. I demonstrated easing in the excess fabric from the skirt waistline to match the bodice waistline and attaching an invisible zipper to the skirt.
Lesson Steps:
- Measure the skirt waistline and bodice waistline to check if they match
- If the skirt waistline is larger, ease in the excess fabric into the side seams and center back
- Alternatively, gather the excess fabric slightly at the front and back for a gathered waist look
- Match the side seams of the skirt and bodice, pin in place
- Sew the skirt to the bodice at the waistline, easing in any excess fabric
- Attach an invisible zipper to the center back of the skirt
- Ease in any remaining excess fabric from the skirt waistline into the bodice
- Hand-baste or finish the zipper area as desired
