The Emily dress combines couture influences from ‘John Galliano for Dior’ inspired skirt with a flowy draped bias cut cowl neck bodice for a flirty, chic, romantic, and elegant silhouette.


Dress Description:

  • Cowl neck, sleeveless top
  • A-line silhouette
  • Draped front skirt
  • Below knee length
  • Fully lined
  • Invisible zipper at CB


Construction Details and Steps:

  • The muslin preparation 
  • The bodice draped on Bias
  • Creative fold and pre- application applied to fabric and draped for skirt
  • The draped pieces are marked and transferred to the paper
  • The sewable pattern created
  • Cut and sew details for top fabric and the lining
  • Hand finishings
  • Review of styling


Fabric detail and usage:

  • Approximately, 1.5 yards Lightweight silk for top fabric ben used
  • Approximately 1.5 yards lightweight Silk Habotai for lining 
  • 22” soft invisible zipper
  • Small hook and eye



Fabrics can be used for this project:

Any fabric that has a good drape, meaning it is flowy, hangs and moves in a fluid manner. 

Lightweight, midweight Crepe, Mid weight interlock Rayon or Viscose, Mid weight Georgett
