Dress Project: Emily

3-month Access

In this session, I taught how to sew the skirt portion of the cowl neck bias draped dress. I first sewed the skirt pieces together separately for the outer fabric and lining, then attached the skirt to the bodice. After that, I worked on attaching the lining, securing it at the waist before adding the skirt lining.

Lesson Steps:

  • Sew the skirt pieces together for the outer fabric
  • Sew the skirt pieces together for the lining
  • Attach the outer skirt to the bodice
  • Hand-tack the lining at the waistline to secure it
  • Attach the lining skirt
  • Finish the zipper and side seams for the lining
  • Hem the outer skirt with a baby hem
  • Press the hem flat
  • Hem the lining skirt by folding a tiny hem and sewing
