In this session, I taught how to draft the set-in sleeve pattern for the jacket and make adjustments to the jacket pattern pieces for the desired fit and style.

I demonstrated transferring the draped jacket pieces onto paper, truing the pattern pieces, and adding seam allowances.

I guided you through transferring the draped jacket pieces to paper patterns, truing the front, side, and back pieces, and adjusting for a more fitted or relaxed silhouette. We also drafted the sleeve pattern and made modifications for desired sleeve fit.

Lesson Steps:

  • Transferred draped jacket pieces (front, side, back) to paper patterns
  • Trued the front piece to the side piece, adjusting for length
  • Trued the side piece to the back piece
  • Added seam allowances to the pattern pieces
  • Showed how to modify the front for a slimmer, more fitted look
  • Demonstrated adjusting the sleeve cap for a tighter or looser bicep fit
  • Explained dropping the sleeve cap when widening the bicep area
