In this session, I introduced the fabric I chose for the drape jacket project – a boucle fabric from Mood with a beautiful drape and cozy texture.

I acknowledged the challenges of working with this open-weave, fuzzy fabric but expressed my intention to use the raw edges as a decorative finish.

Lesson Steps:

  • Decided on using a boucle fabric for the drape jacket project
  • Noted the fabric’s soft, warm, and stylish qualities
  • Recognized the challenges of the open weave and fuzzy threads
  • Planned to use the raw edges as a decorative finish instead of covering them
  • Mentioned the option of using a serger for seam finishing
  • Demonstrated adding important details like grain line, fabric info, and sizing to the pattern pieces
  • Prepared to start cutting the fabric for the jacket
