In this session, I laid out the muslin pieces and went over the lines, clarifying the different options for a more fitted or drapey look.

I then assembled the front, side panels, and back pieces to test the fit on a dress form.

Lesson Steps:

  • Traced over lines with darker pens/markers to clarify the different style options
  • Assembled the muslin pieces (front, sides, back) to test the overall fit
  • Marked adjustments needed with a red pen/marker to finalize the pattern lines
  • Took measurements for the armhole height and shoulder to prepare for drafting the sleeve
  • Explained the next steps of transferring the final lines to pattern paper and drafting the sleeve pattern
