In this session, I taught how to carefully cut the fuzzy fabric for the Amanda Jacket, ensuring enough seam allowance to prevent the threads from coming loose.
I emphasized folding the cut pieces immediately to minimize fabric disturbance.
Lesson Steps:
- Cut the fabric with a slightly larger seam allowance, around 1/2 inch, to account for potential fraying
- Fold the cut pieces immediately after cutting to prevent further fabric disturbance
- Be conservative when cutting the sleeve pieces to avoid making the sleeves too large
- After cutting the main pieces, cut the bias strips needed for the project
- Keep the cut pieces organized and protected until ready for sewing
