In this session, I taught how to finish the darts, attach the side panels, and bias bind the neckline and armholes of the Amanda Jacket.

I worked carefully with the delicate silk habotai fabric to avoid fraying.

Lesson Steps:

  • Closed the darts by stitching from the bottom up
  • Attached the bias bound side panels to the back piece
  • Bias bound the front neckline and shoulder areas
  • Joined the front and back at the shoulders
  • Bias bound the back neckline, clipping corners as needed
  • Pressed the bias binding flat and tacked down corners
  • Prepared to bias bind the armholes next
