In this session, I covered finishing the armholes, neckline, and attaching the sleeves to the jacket.

I stretched the bias binding slightly while sewing around the armholes to help it turn smoothly. After securing the armhole seams, I trimmed away loose threads and frayed edges.

Lesson Steps:

  • Finished armholes by stitching down seams and binding with bias tape
  • Trimmed frayed edges and cleaned up loose threads
  • Bound the neckline and front opening with a long bias strip
  • Pressed seams and hems flat
  • Measured sleeve cap to match armhole before binding sleeve seams
  • Pinned and sewed sleeves into armholes, easing in fullness
  • Pressed sleeve seams towards the sleeve
