In this session, I demonstrated how to finish constructing a lined plaid skirt, including inserting the zipper, attaching the lining, and creating a waistband from grosgrain ribbon.

Aligning the plaid pattern while inserting the zipper was challenging but I managed to get it looking nice and clean. I also had to adapt my plans for the waistband fabric and used a grosgrain ribbon instead of the original fabric I had planned.

Lesson Steps:

• Inserted centered zipper, carefully aligning the plaid pattern
• Constructed lining using French seams
• Attached lining to skirt at waistline, leaving slit in back for dressform
• Created waistband from grosgrain ribbon and fusible interfacing
• Hand-stitched waistband in places, machine stitched in others
• Finished hem of skirt lining by hand
