In this session, I demonstrated how to attach the sleeve to the bodice of the sloper pattern. I showed the steps to ease and fit the sleeve cap into the armhole, ensuring a smooth and clean finish.

I guide through the process of attaching the sleeve to the bodice sloper, easing the sleeve cap into the armhole, and achieving a well-fitted sleeve without excessive ease at the top.

Lesson Steps:

  • Attach the bottom side seams of the sleeve, matching the notches and pinning from the inside.
  • Insert the arm into the sleeve and attach it to the shoulder seam, matching the shoulder line.
  • Ease the sleeve cap into the armhole by making small basting stitches along the ease line.
  • Divide and spread the ease evenly, pinning the shoulder area first, then the rest of the armhole.
  • Stitch the sleeve in place, carefully distributing the ease for a smooth finish.
  • Adjust the sleeve length if needed by adding or removing fabric at the hem.
