I explain the considerations for body shape when raising the waist, how to adjust the front, sides, and back differently, and the importance of smoothing lines and truing the pattern to ensure a good fit.

Lesson Steps:

1. Determine how much to raise the waist (no more than 1.5-2 inches at the side seam).
2. Draw the new waistline, higher in front and gradually lowering towards the sides and back.
3. Raise the dart legs and adjust the center front and back.
4. Trace and transfer the new lines, smoothing out harsh angles.
5. Adjust the darts and curve the waistline for a better fit.
6. True the lines by closing the darts and smoothing any inconsistencies.
7. Check and adjust the side seams to ensure they match and create a smooth line.
8. Finalize the pattern by adding seam allowances and preparing for facing and lining.
