In this session, I demonstrated how to true the oversized shirt drape by marking the shoulders, adjusting the armholes and neckline, and creating a slight curve at the waistline. I also showed how to determine the hemline shape and measured the key areas like armholes, neckline, and shoulders.

Lesson Steps:

  • Marked the new shoulder line and underarm points
  • Reshaped the armholes and neckline using curve rulers
  • Trimmed seam allowances along armholes and neckline
  • Straightened the side seams, optionally curving slightly at the waist
  • Determined the desired hemline shape, curving or keeping straight
  • Measured the armholes, neckline circumference, and shoulder lengths
  • Pinned the side seams together to prepare for trying on the drape
