In this session, I went over the drafted pattern pieces for the Freya twist dress.

I explained the various components like the bodice, sleeves, skirt, and lining pieces, making adjustments for ease and fit.

I reviewed the drafted pattern pieces, made modifications for added ease, and prepared the facing and lining pieces. I also numbered and labeled all the pattern pieces.

Lesson Steps:

  • Reviewed the sleeve pattern piece and facing
  • Went over the bodice front and back pieces for the outer fabric
  • Drafted the bodice lining front, adding extra ease at side seams
  • Explained why the lining waist was left longer than outer bodice
  • Drafted the skirt pieces for outer fabric and lining
  • Drew facing pieces for skirt front slit, hem, and center back
  • Numbered all pattern pieces for outer fabric, facings, and linings
  • Discussed marking notches with thread instead of snipping silk fabric
