Dress Project: Alex Blush Bridal Gown

Welcome to the Alex Blush Dress Project!

Alex Blush is a stunning Halter top wedding or engagement dress featuring a deep V neckline, whimsical hand sewn floral lace and sheer bodice-inspired details. An effortless A-line silhouette is created by layers of tulle over a nude blush color base. You will feel comfortable all day long with the airy layers.

In this project video, you will learn:

how to drape and construct a halter top tulle bodice
How to turn your draped base sample into a pattern
Cut and sew nude color tulle into a halter top with an invisible center front extension
The placement and flow of lace appliques
Hand sew the lace appliques
How to cut layers of full circle tulles and sew them
How to layer tulles and secure them to create tulle circle skirt

Fabrics and Materials:

  • Soft, fair skin color, Italian tulle:
    For Bodice< 1 yard
    For Skirt < 5 yards
  • Soft Italian, off-white color tulle:
    For skirt: each layer of full circle takes approx. 4-5 yards
    (Blush Skirt has 5 layers of full circle tulle)
  • Flower embroidered bridal lace- 1 yard
    (Choose laces that are easier to cut into appliques)
