In this session, I demonstrated how to transfer the draped bodice onto paper to create the pattern. I showed the steps to carefully pin the draped fabric onto the paper grid, then trace the stitching lines using a tracing wheel to mark the final pattern outline.

Lesson Steps:

  • Pin the draped fabric onto paper grid without stretching
  • Use a tracing wheel to mark stitching lines on paper
  • Draw pattern outline following traced lines
  • Mark important points like side seam, apex, center front
  • Add seam allowances (I use 1cm, you can use 1/2 inch)
  • Cut along seam allowance lines to complete bodice pattern
  • Next step is cutting fabric using the final pattern
