In this lesson, I taught the process of designing and sketching a bridal gown with a nude blush undertone and a white embroidered tulle overlay. The gown features a transparent design with an open back halter top, a deep V-neckline, and a flowy, layered tulle skirt with a big A-line silhouette.

I started by using a body template and sketched the dress design on marker paper. I colored the skin tones first, layering markers to achieve the desired shades and shadows, considering the sheer nature of the dress. Then, I colored the dress skirt with a nude blush tone, adding depth around the waist and bottom layers. I detailed the lace embroidery, face, hair, and makeup, layering colors and tones to create a realistic look.

Lesson Steps:

  • Use a body template and sketch the dress design on marker paper
  • Color the skin tones first, layering markers for desired shades and shadows
  • Color the dress skirt with a nude blush tone, adding depth around the waist and bottom layers
  • Detail the lace embroidery, face, hair, and makeup using layered colors and tones
  • Add final touches like earrings and embroidery details using gouache or other mediums
