In this lesson, I taught how to prepare muslin for a 90-degree fold creative draping skirt, which is an extension of creative cut and geometric cut pieces. I explained that this technique has been used by Christian Dior and is a fun, creative draping method.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Prepare two pieces of fabric: one for the full front draping and one for the symmetrical back.
  2. Find the center of the front fabric piece.
  3. Sew the front piece together by folding it in the middle and stitching along the entire line.
  4. For the back piece, measure the width at the hip line and add 3 inches.
  5. Cut the back piece to a length of 27 inches from waist to hem.
  6. Add an extra inch to the back piece for drawing the hip line reference.

I demonstrated each step, showing how to properly prepare the muslin for both the front and back pieces of the skirt. This preparation is crucial for the successful draping of the creative fold skirt.
