In this lesson, I taught how to create a pattern for an empire bodice with small tucks instead of one large dart. I demonstrated how to transfer the muslin pieces to pattern paper, true the seams, add ease, and make necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer muslin pieces to dot paper, separating front and back
  2. Trace pattern pieces using a tracing wheel
  3. Close darts and true seams
  4. Adjust side seams and add ease
  5. Match and true waist panel to bodice pieces
  6. Make corrections to back piece and match to front
  7. Blend lines and smooth curves
  8. Add seam allowances and pattern information
  9. Cut out pattern pieces and add notches

Throughout the lesson, I emphasized the importance of precision and double-checking measurements to ensure a professional-quality pattern. I also explained how to make adjustments for fit and ease, and demonstrated techniques for blending lines and creating smooth curves.
