In this lesson, I taught how to create a raglan sleeve pattern through draping. I demonstrated the process of transferring the sloper to paper, cutting and preparing the fabric, and then draping it on the dress form to achieve the desired raglan sleeve shape.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer sloper to paper, adding necessary markings and seam allowances
  2. Cut and prepare fabric for draping
  3. Mark raglan lines on the dress form or bodice
  4. Pin and drape the sleeve fabric on the dress form
  5. Adjust and smooth fabric to create proper fit around shoulder and neckline
  6. Pin and mark seam lines
  7. Draw final lines and add notches
  8. Remove draped piece and transfer to pattern paper

Throughout this process, I emphasized the importance of maintaining proper grain lines, creating a clean fit, and adding ease where necessary. I also explained how this basic raglan sleeve sloper can be used to create various designs in the future.
