In this lesson, I taught how to turn a draped peg skirt into a pattern. I demonstrated the process of transferring the draped piece onto dot paper, marking pleats and darts, and creating a clean, finished pattern. I also discussed fabric choices, lining options, and finishing techniques for this stylish skirt design.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Pin draped pattern piece to dot paper
  2. Trace outline and mark key points (darts, pleats, seams)
  3. Draw center front and back lines
  4. Mark and label pleats
  5. True darts and smooth lines
  6. Fold and tape pleats to check fit
  7. Clean up lines and add seam allowances
  8. Add extra length at hem for adjustments
  9. Consider lining options and discuss fabric choices
  10. Add notches and reference points (e.g., hip line)
  11. Include pattern information (grain line, cut instructions, size)
