In this lesson, I taught how to transfer a t-shirt foundation to a paper pattern. I demonstrated how to make adjustments for both close-fitting and relaxed-fit styles, including dart manipulation and armhole adjustments. I also explained the importance of truing the pattern and double-checking measurements.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer the t-shirt foundation to dot paper, pinning carefully to avoid stretching
  2. Trace the pattern pieces, including darts, apex, armhole, neckline, and center front
  3. Make adjustments to straighten lines and close darts for jersey fabrics
  4. True the pattern by checking and adjusting measurements
  5. Create variations for close-fitting and relaxed-fit styles
  6. Adjust the neckline and shoulder line as needed
  7. Transfer and adjust the back pattern piece
  8. Double-check armhole measurements and side seams
  9. Curve the side seams slightly for a better fit
  10. Label the pattern pieces with size and fit information
  11. Cut out the final pattern pieces

Remember, always double-check your measurements and make necessary adjustments before finalizing your pattern. This t-shirt foundation can be used as a base for various t-shirt designs and styles.
