In this lesson, I taught how to create an armhole princess bodice pattern. I demonstrated the process of aligning pattern pieces, tracing, and adjusting the pattern to ensure a perfect fit. I also showed how to blend lines for a smooth finish and add seam allowances.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Align and pin pattern pieces to the fabric
  2. Trace pattern pieces using a tracing wheel
  3. Separate front and back pieces
  4. Transfer markings and draw lines
  5. Check and adjust fit of princess seams
  6. Blend lines for a smooth finish
  7. Add seam allowances (1 cm)
  8. Label pattern pieces with cutting instructions
  9. Add notches to pattern pieces

Throughout the lesson, I emphasized the importance of accuracy and patience when working with princess seams. I also shared some insights about why designer brands often limit their size ranges and encouraged students to embrace their body shapes and create beautiful clothes for themselves.
