In this lesson, I taught how to create and modify a basic triangular top using jersey fabric. I demonstrated various techniques for adjusting the neckline, adding design elements like pleats, and creating different looks by manipulating the fabric.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Start with a basic triangular shape in jersey fabric
  2. Experiment with folding and pinning to create different necklines and design elements
  3. Mark center front, center back, and key body points on the fabric
  4. Cut and adjust the fabric while on the dress form
  5. Add design details like pleats or gathers
  6. Create a log of measurements and adjustments for future reference
  7. Remove the draped piece from the dress form and transfer to paper
  8. Refine the pattern and make any final adjustments
  9. Discuss fabric selection and the importance of testing different jerseys
  10. Demonstrate how small changes can significantly alter the look of the garment
