In this lesson, I taught how to create a bodice with a center front dart using draping techniques. I demonstrated the process of preparing the dress form, placing and pinning the muslin, and creating the center front dart. I also showed how to drape the back of the bodice and make necessary adjustments.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Prepare the dress form with tapes and reference points
  2. Place and pin the muslin on the front, aligning with reference points
  3. Smooth out excess fabric to create the center front dart
  4. Cut and adjust the neckline and armhole
  5. Mark and finalize the center front dart
  6. Drape the back of the bodice
  7. Create and adjust the back shoulder dart
  8. Form the back waist dart
  9. Refine the armhole and side seam
  10. Close and pin the darts
  11. Make final adjustments and redraw lines as needed
  12. Check for proper fit and ease
  13. Prepare to transfer the drape to a pattern
