In this lesson, I taught how to transfer a draped bodice with a center front dart to a paper pattern. I demonstrated the process for both the front and back pieces, including how to mark darts, adjust lines, and match the front and back pieces.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer the front piece to dotted paper, pinning carefully
  2. Mark center front, dart, waistline, apex, and other key points
  3. Trace the lines and adjust the dart
  4. Repeat the process for the back piece
  5. Match front and back pieces, making necessary adjustments
  6. Add seam allowances
  7. Prepare the pattern for cutting and sewing

I explained the importance of accuracy in transferring the drape to paper and showed how to handle common issues like shoulder line adjustments. I also discussed options for lining and facing, recommending full lining for most garments unless a special drape is needed.
