In this lesson, I taught how to create a very close-fitting full body princess sloper. I demonstrated transferring the pattern to dot paper, separating the pieces, and making necessary adjustments for a snug fit. The focus was on creating an accurate, close-fitting pattern that could potentially be used as a dress form cover.
Lesson Steps:
- Transfer pattern to dot paper, separating front and back pieces
- Trace and pin pattern pieces, marking reference points (waist, bust, hip lines)
- Draw and adjust neckline, armholes, and other curves
- Measure and compare pattern pieces to ensure accuracy
- Separate front and back pieces, adding seam allowances
- Add notches at key points (hemline, waistline, bustline)
- Make final adjustments for a very close fit
- Cut out pattern pieces
- Prepare for sewing, including interfacing recommendation and zipper placement
