In this lesson, I taught how to create a princess line skirt foundation-sloper. I demonstrated how to true the pattern pieces, add length, and create variations such as straight, tapered, A-line, and flared skirts. I also explained how to add ease and use this sloper as a base for future designs.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer and true the pattern pieces at the waist and hip lines
  2. Add length to create a basic straight skirt
  3. Create variations: tapered, A-line, and flared skirts
  4. Blend curves and adjust lines for a smooth silhouette
  5. Add ease to the waist and hip (1 inch or 2 centimeters overall)
  6. Label pattern pieces and add necessary information
  7. Use the sloper as a base for creating different skirt styles and fabrics
