In this lesson, I taught how to experiment with unconventional neckline placements on basic t-shirts and dresses. I demonstrated cutting necklines in unexpected locations to push the boundaries of traditional design and create interesting, unique looks.

Lesson Steps:

  • Start with a basic t-shirt shape without a neckline
  • Choose an unconventional location for the neckline (e.g., off-center or on the shoulder)
  • Cut a small opening for the neckline, making it round or eye-shaped
  • Experiment with different neckline placements on various garments (longer t-shirt, t-shaped dress, curved triangular dress)
  • Leave some necklines uncut to decide placement on the dress form
  • Try the garments on a dress form to see how they look and make final decisions
