In this lesson, I taught how to drape three different dress styles: shift, semi-fitted, and sheath dresses. I demonstrated the techniques for creating each style, starting with the basic shift dress and progressing to the more fitted sheath dress. I also showed how to create a boat neckline variation.

Lesson Steps:

  • Drape the basic shift dress (also called a box dress)
  • Add darts to create a semi-fitted dress
  • Create a more fitted sheath dress by adding additional darts
  • Demonstrate how to adjust the neckline for a boat neck variation
  • Make final adjustments and prepare the drape for pattern-making
