In this lesson, I taught how to drape a twist dress, which falls into creative draping. I demonstrated how to prepare the fabric, drape it on the dress form, and create the unique twist effect around the waistline. This technique can be applied to various fabrics and styles, allowing for personalized and creative designs.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Prepare the muslin by gathering and knotting at the waistline
  2. Pin the muslin to the dress form, aligning center front and waistline
  3. Shape the neckline, shoulder, and armhole
  4. Create the twist effect by manipulating fabric around the waist
  5. Drape the skirt portion, deciding on desired silhouette
  6. Mark important lines and points on the draped muslin
  7. Drape the back piece, considering fit and style options
  8. Join front and back pieces, making final adjustments
  9. Demonstrate how to create the twist effect with two pieces
  10. Discuss fabric options and styling possibilities for the finished dress
