In this lesson, I taught how to shape an unshaped sleeve piece around the body. I demonstrated how to add fullness, ease, and make adjustments to create a well-fitting sleeve that matches the body’s sloper. This process is crucial for creating a perfect sleeve sloper before moving on to more advanced sleeve styles.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Pin the top of the shoulder point to the sleeve
  2. Add extra room at the crown of the sleeve if needed
  3. Fold and ease the fabric around the arm
  4. Match the seam and pin in place
  5. Adjust the shoulder line by moving it slightly forward
  6. Continue easing and pinning the fabric
  7. Add fullness to the shoulder area if necessary
  8. Draw the new shoulder line
  9. Compare different sleeve options and adjustments
  10. Turn the draped sleeve into a pattern
  11. Create a perfect sleeve sloper that matches the body sloper

Remember, creating a perfect sleeve sloper is essential before moving on to more advanced techniques like raglan sleeves. In future lessons, we’ll explore how to modify the sloper for various sleeve styles and volumes.
