In this lesson, I taught how to create a pattern for a panel bodice or Dior dart top. I demonstrated how to transfer the draped design to pattern paper, make adjustments, and finalize the pattern pieces for a three-panel top with a Dior dart.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer draped design to pattern paper
  2. Make adjustments and corrections to the pattern
  3. Add length to create a tunic-style top
  4. Draw and close darts
  5. Check and adjust measurements
  6. Refine armhole and neckline shapes
  7. Add pattern information and markings
  8. Cut out pattern pieces
  9. Add seam allowances
  10. Discuss fabric options and styling possibilities

I emphasized the importance of double-checking measurements and being patient with the process. I also suggested various ways to customize the top, such as using different fabrics for panels or adding a Peter Pan collar for a Chanel-inspired look.
