In this lesson, I taught how to drape a panel dart, also known as the Dior dart. I demonstrated how to create a straight, loose bodice with this dart style, which has been featured in various Christian Dior designs. The lesson covered draping techniques for the front, side, and back panels, as well as how to adjust the silhouette for different looks.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Prepare and cut muslin pieces for front, side, and back panels
  2. Drape the front panel, marking key points and dart placement
  3. Drape the side panel, aligning with the front panel
  4. Drape the back panel, releasing the shoulder dart
  5. Assemble the three panels together, adjusting for desired fit
  6. Mark final lines and adjust for different silhouettes (e.g., boxier or A-line)
  7. Demonstrate how to lengthen the bodice for a tunic or dress style

This lesson provides a foundation for creating various styles using the Dior dart technique, from fitted bodices to looser, more relaxed silhouettes.
