In this session, I taught how to true the corset pattern pieces by matching seams, adjusting curves, and adding notches for proper alignment during sewing. I walked through each step meticulously to ensure a well-fitting corset.

Lesson Steps:

  • Matched seams of corset pattern pieces, adjusting curves for a smooth line
  • Added notches at key points like bust apex, waistline, etc. for alignment
  • Checked the overall line from bust to hem, making minor adjustments
  • Folded pattern pieces at notches to inspect the seam match
  • Made tiny tweaks to eliminate any bumps or hollows in the lines
  • Added seam allowances and necessary markings on the final pattern

Attention to detail in truing the pattern ensures the corset will come together seamlessly when cut from the fabric. Our methodical process highlights the importance of this step for achieving a professional, well-fitted garment.
