In this lesson, I taught how to attach and fit a sleeve sloper to the bodice. I demonstrated the process of matching seams, easing the sleeve cap, and pinning it in place. The focus was on achieving a clean fit without excessive ease at the top of the sleeve.
Lesson Steps:
- Attach the bottom side seam of the sleeve, matching notches and pinning from the inside
- Match the sleeve’s shoulder line to the bodice’s shoulder seam
- Ease the sleeve cap area using a basting stitch if needed
- Divide and spread the ease evenly around the armhole
- Pin the sleeve to the bodice, adjusting as necessary
- Check the fit, ensuring a clean look with minimal ease at the top
- Make any final adjustments, such as adding length to the wrist if needed
- Transform the fitted sleeve into a sloper pattern
