In this lesson, I taught how to create a classic princess bodice through draping. I demonstrated how to measure the dress form, prepare muslin pieces, and drape both the front and back sections of the bodice, including the center and side pieces.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Measure the dress form and prepare muslin pieces
  2. Drape and pin the center front piece
  3. Mark and cut the center front piece
  4. Drape and pin the front side piece
  5. Ease and mark the front side piece
  6. Attach front center and side pieces
  7. Drape and pin the center back piece
  8. Mark and cut the center back piece
  9. Drape and pin the back side piece
  10. Mark the back side piece
  11. Attach back center and side pieces
  12. Connect shoulder and side seams
  13. Add ease to the side seams
  14. Label front and back pieces
