In this lesson, I taught how to drape and fit a kimono-style top with a tubular skirt. I demonstrated various techniques for creating different designs, from fitted to loose, and showed how to manipulate the fabric to achieve different looks.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Center and pin the neckline and shoulder of the tubular shape
  2. Decide on arm design and attachment method
  3. Create pleats or darts for shaping
  4. Adjust armhole for flexibility
  5. Pin side seams and create darts for fitting
  6. Experiment with different designs (fitted, loose, gathered)
  7. Adjust length and fit as desired
  8. Mark final design on fabric
  9. Optional: Create a super-tight fit by stretching fabric around the body
